What a movie! Bellissima! I have used AI to research the situation carefully. While Japan is famous for its beautiful Iris ensata (Japanese iris/hanashōbu), these are cultivated throughout the country in dedicated garden "series" (like the Edo or Higo strains). There is no "Iwo Jima iris" cultivar.
They're all frighteningly clever. What AI can do, even now in its infancy is pretty unsettling. The work I most care about has always been my playwritng, but through the years I kept the all-important revenue stream flowing through speechwriting and creative directing for big corporate events. I've been out of that loop for some time, but I'm sure most if not all of that work is done by AI now. But I was kind of knocked off my pins recently when a playwright friend played me a demo of a musical he was working on. He had written the lyrics, but AI had composed the score and produced the vocals and orchestrations. The scariest part was that it wasn't bad. You have ato wonder where all this is going.
Yes, I imagine a lot of us creatives are out of jobs. I’m glad I’m at the tail end of my career and not the beginning! And yet, those Jetson flying cars and robots that can do all my house chores still seem as impossible now as they were back then.
